Okay so I really think this could have been cool, but it sort of fails before it starts. Glide is a “web page” that utilizes other search engines with a whole lot of extra levels of functionality and features.
Unfortunately, the killer thing people want most, is lacking. It’s a portal to search engines, not really a viable item to take on Google or Bing. Cannot speak for everyone here, but who the hell cares? Why do I need an overdone wrapper for something I can use without the whizbang?
Perhaps I am just grumpy today, but I found Glide to be a bit of a let down. I don’t want the features offered, I want a new kind of search engine that is truly doing something outside of the box. Not reworking what is ready out there.
